The Almonte builder of uncrewed surface vessels can now compete for defence innovation and experimentation work through July 2031
ALMONTE, Ontario, September 18, 2026. Resolute Autonomy has qualified as a supplier under the Government of Canada's Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) Marketplace. The Supply Arrangement, issued to Resolute Innovations Inc., operating as Resolute Autonomy, runs to July 31, 2031.

The Department of National Defence and the Defence Investment Agency launched the Defence Drone Initiative in July 2026 to accelerate the development, testing and production of Canadian uncrewed and autonomous systems for the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Coast Guard. Under the Marketplace, the Defence Investment Agency solicits offers from qualified suppliers and awards each requirement as a separate contract.
The company's first vessel, Eureka 001, is in commissioning trials on Ontario waters. Jamieson has spent fifteen years building perception systems for autonomous operations, and was lidar lead for the 2017 Rolls-Royce Marine and Svitzer trials of the world's first remotely operated commercial vessel. Separately from Resolute Autonomy, he serves as Perception Lead for Tech 4 Tracing, where he designs the technical approach for automated, multi-sensor, drone-based landmine detection in Ukraine.
Resolute Autonomy builds uncrewed surface vessels for remote and autonomous operation. They are used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), search and rescue, remote logistics support, surveying and environmental monitoring. Its vessels run on the company's own autonomy kit and ground control station. Both are in development as products in their own right: the kit adds situational awareness, remote operation or autonomous control to other vessels. Resolute Autonomy designs and manufactures its autonomous systems in Canada and buys from Canadian suppliers for security of supply.
