Vessels

A line of uncrewed surface vessels made in Canada, sharing one autonomy stack: one class on the water, two in design. Keeping the vessels low cost means they can be fielded in the numbers that wide-area surveillance requires.

Prototype in commissioning trials

Eureka class

A 16-foot welded-aluminum uncrewed surface vessel, designed to transit fast on gas, hold station for weeks on electric power and solar, and ship two to a standard container. The first hull, Eureka 001, is in commissioning trials on Ontario waters.

SPRINT AND STARE

The gas engine is sized for a 24-knot cruise, with up to 1,200 km of range at economical speed. On station, differential electric thrusters hold position quietly on an 11 kWh battery bank, recharged by 800 W of solar.

TWO TO A CONTAINER

Launches from a trailer at any boat ramp. Two vessels stack in a standard 20-foot ISO container, so a patrol pair travels anywhere a container ships, including northern sealift.

SEES AND REPORTS

Doppler radar, thermal and colour cameras, and an AIS transceiver feed an onboard AI edge processor. Fused contacts reach the operator over Starlink, LTE, or RF.

The sensor fusion, the compliance engine, the command system and the mission autonomy are our own design, running above a standard open-source autopilot. USVs built in Canada.

Missions

SEARCH AND RESCUE

Doctrine search patterns: parallel track, creeping line, expanding square, sector. Each is planned from a drift-corrected datum and run with no crew aboard. Thermal cameras search in darkness. Several vessels divide one area, and they stay on task after crewed assets have to turn back.

DOMAIN AWARENESS

Persistent watch over harbours, coastlines and chokepoints. Radar, AIS and camera contacts are fused into single tracks, and a contact whose declared identity stops matching its measured track is flagged to the operator.

BORDER AND APPROACHES

Repeatable patrol of approaches, channels and boundary waters, day and night. A six-inch draft reaches water that crewed patrol craft cannot, and a vessel can hold a line for days at a time.

FISHERIES COMPLIANCE

Monitoring on closed-area boundaries, estuaries and river channels where patrol vessels cannot follow. Electric thrusters hold station quietly and thermal cameras record at night. Observations carry time, position and provenance.

VESSEL COMPLIANCE MONITORING

Fixed-station monitoring of traffic in a defined area: speed through a restricted zone, discharge on the water, and vessels operating without AIS. Tracks and imagery are recorded against an audit trail.

SURVEY AND SCIENCE

A stable, quiet platform for hydrographic and environmental payloads, running planned lines or holding station for weeks. Lane coverage is tracked as it is swept and logged with the data.

INLAND AND RESERVOIR MONITORING

Multi-day monitoring and survey lines on reservoirs, pit lakes and remote northern waters, where putting a crewed boat on the water means trucking one in and staffing it.

SENSOR AND BUOY DEPLOYMENT

Placing, checking and recovering small instrument packages on a schedule, without a crewed launch: drifters, sensor buoys and light moorings within the vessel’s payload.

Applications span government and defence, science, and commercial operations on Canada’s coasts, in its northern waters and on its inland waterways. Payload and sensor fit are configured per mission.
